DTS Graduation!

Monday, 2 July 2007

Three weeks ago (yeah..I'm slow), the DTS arrived back safely from India, full of stories and exciting adventures to tell about. It was wonderful to see them again, and to show off Alexander, whom they were all excited to meet! Of course, he got loads of attention, and even a tiny "punjabi", the local dress in India as a gift. After a final week of debriefing and teaching, and wonderful fellowship, it was time for the DTS to end. We held a lovely graduation ceremony, and it was such a pleasure to give the students their certificates and congratulate them for completing the school. Christian gave a marvellous speech about strawberry plants...and how they are a parallel to our lives (I guess you had to be there!).

Sadly, that was the last DTS we will lead, and it was encouraging to hear from the students and other staff how much we had encouraged them and what we had meant for them during the last 6 months. Thank you for all your prayers for the school!

We finished off with a barbeque and fun day on Saturday, followed by a big bonfire. It was a really nice way to end off the school.

Two handsome boys, enjoying the bonfire. Alexander's woollies were once worn by Christian :)
