 Mix the dough, with your 2.5 and 5 year old helpers. Spill some flour on the floor, but laugh about it together. Make sure you put in a wee bit more sugar than the recipe calls for. Dip your fingers in the flour to taste it, and declare it "lækker" (delicious). Roll the dough into round balls...or just sort of mush it together. As you like :) Put them in the oven and wait impatiently for them to be done.
 Pull them out of the oven and admire your work.
 Cut one open, and top it with cheese and jam. And real butter :)

Here is the recipe, in case you'd like to try it out at home. It really is so easy that a child can do it (I told Alexander that he will be able to do it himself by the time he's 8!)

Fast and Easy Buns (original recipe in Danish here)
110g of softened margarine
300ml milk
50g fresh yeast (or one packet of dried yeast)
1/2 tbs salt
1 1/2 tbs sugar
1 egg
about 550g flour (or roughly 4 cups)

Turn the oven to 185 C. Warm the milk and add the yeast. Melt the margarine and mix into the milk and yeast. Add salt, sugar and the egg, using a hand beater to mix it together. Add the flour, bit by bit, until the dough is no longer sticky (you may not need all the flour).

Make 18 round balls and leave on a baking tray for 15 minutes to raise. Bake them for 12 minutes in the middle of the oven, or until they are brown. Enjoy them straight away (not the best recipe for keeping until later)

    1. They are honestly really easy. I am challenged in the kitchen, but these turn out well every time. It's a fun project with kids too, because you just stir everything.
