Project Life - Week 27

Weekly spread, WITHOUT insert
Welcome to Week 27! This week I did something I've never done before, and I added an insert (insert shocked gasp here!). I know, I know, everyone else has been doing it for ages. The thing is, I have been trying to keep my album to 2 pages maximum each week, because I think quite frankly that's enough. Plus, it's easier to keep track of what week we're on, because I plan to print my album as a Shutterfly book, and then I can't change the page size. This week, however, I had so many great photos from our trip to Hjarnø that I wanted to make a mini-book. Then I decided that putting an insert in my PL album meant it might actually get done :) Here is what my first spread looks like with the insert.
First spread, with insert
We had a fabulously busy week with friends of ours from Norway. Christian had the week off work, so we played tourists and went to see the Viking stones in Jelling, took a trip to Hjarnø and the beach at Juelsminde and invited friends over to barbeque. Anne and Christian (our friends...yes, his name is also Christian! It gets confusing at times ;)) made us a very yummy dinner before they left, which was lovely.

Second spread, with insert
Here is the second spread, with the second half of the insert (more photos from Hjarnø) and the weekend. I had to work on the weekend, but Christian wasn't going to let that stop him from packing the weekend full of activity (the only way for him to keep sane with three little ones while I am working, apparently!). He hooked the bike trailer up to his bike for Alexander and Isabel, put Lucy in the toddler seat on the back of his bike, and rode downtown to the playground (about 5 km). I think he's amazing! They hung out down there for a while, then played Wii in the afternoon. On Sunday, they had a really busy day. Christian's mum and sister, Kirsten, were camping at a lake close to us, so they drove over there in the morning with fresh rundstykker (bread rolls) and ate breakfast together. The children apparently headed straight for the water after they had eaten and also enjoyed the playground. On their way home, a friend called to ask what they were doing, and would they like to go to the Viking Festival in Jelling? The lake is close to Jelling, so they met up there and enjoyed the Viking festival. Alexander's highlight was finding a glass bead at an "excavation" site, and Isabel's was the horse race (of course! She loves horses ;)) They then all drove to the beach together and were still out when I got home at 5pm! What a day!

Just as I was about to put my pages together, I got an email about Paislee Press' new kit, The Weekender, being released. I love her stuff, and this kit is so cute! I used that on all my pages :) I am also linking up to the mom creative as usual, head over there for more inspiration.

My sister in law, Kirsten, has also started Project Life, which is fun! You can see her pages on her blog.

I will be away on holidays next week, so there will be no Project Life update until 2 weeks from now. Happy Summer (if you're in the Northern Hemisphere)!

Hugs, Fiona
