project life 2013 - week 24

Tuesday, 25 June 2013

hello there, project life! i think i'm finally finding my groove again, which is so nice. sharing my pages here on the blog really helps me to get it done. today i'm sharing week 24, which was 2 weeks ago.
the week started out sunny and beautiful. after a late night sunday, isabel was tired and i let her stay home from preschool. she and lucy played together all day, and so nicely, and i was reminded of how isabel and alexander used to play the same way about 2 years ago (must go back and get those photos and memories recorded!). remembering those moments makes me really thankful for this project, and the reminder to enjoy the moments and record them. we spent lots of time outside enjoying the weather and water!
on wednesday the weather changed, and the rain clothes came out. we went to a birthday party and had a potluck dinner with alexander's class at school. isabel, lucy and i hit the sales on thursday and came home with a couple of bags of summer clothes for the kids. isabel really loves shopping! (it's her coupland genes ;)). friday we went to a summer party at isabel's preschool, and alexander wanted to bake chocolate chip cookies. i'm hoping that he'll get the hang of it soon enough, and will start baking them by himself! the highlight of the week was the visit to oldemor (great grandmother), who is 93 but can still chase the kids around with her walker. every time we go there, the first thing the kids ask (as soon as afternoon tea is over) is, "when can we play tag?". lots of giggles, every time!

this week i went back to my starting point...simple layout, big photos, and text here and there. i'm really happy with it. after looking at last week's pages, i just felt they were a little too white. this week i used the pl kit midnight by the awesome liz of paislee press, and a single "simple white" template by tracy larsen.  i love how it turned out, but then again, summer pictures always look great! i found it really difficult to choose photos, as i usually try to choose pictures which show what we did. this week, however, i just chose my favourites and wrote down what we did. maybe that's why i like this week so much, because i have way more everyday moments in my life than anything else.

i hope you had a great week! i'm linking up with the mom creative.

hugs, fiona xoxo

  1. beautiful pages! i like how you used a mix of photos - not all close-ups of the kids, but instead a mixture of things from your daily lives. ...also love your little captions on each photo.
