a couple of months ago i bought the debbie's birthday dress pattern by sewpony. it's such a simple, sweet dress, but i just never got around to sewing it up. we booked a time to get a new family photo taken, and in true fiona fashion, i decided to sew new matching dresses for the girls with only a week to spare.
first i decided on the colours i wanted for the whole family's outfits, then tried to find a fabric that encompassed those colours. i really wanted to use a liberty fabric, and managed to find this beautiful mauvey grey in a danish webshop, Betty P, so i didn't have to wait long for postage. i picked up linen in two different colours from stof2000 and got to work.
a few intense mornings and evenings of sewing, and i had two beautiful, simple dresses. pink for isabel, yellow for lucy. they both love their new dresses!
